Hoggy's first opened its doors on June 27, 1991, and quickly became a destination for those who wanted the very best BBQ. But long before Hoggy's smoker was loaded with applewood, its entrepreneurial spirit was committed to bringing real BBQ to central Ohio. Countless hours were dedicated to the creation of Hoggy's...the make up of the menu, the atmosphere, and how Hoggy's would be different...no detail was too small. The result of these conversations became the focus of what we now know as Hoggy's...the area's first real BBQ joint. The pork, ribs and chicken would be smoked, the BBQ sauce and all the side dishes made-from-scratch, the beer would be ice cold, and the people would make Hoggy's even better. As a result of this uncompromising vision, Hoggy's would thrive in Linworth and ultimately open new locations, but never be a chain. The demand for Hoggy's food became so great that the original Linworth location just wasn't enough. What were we to do? Leave barbecue lover's hungry? Not with a name like Hoggy's! On September 19, 1995, Hoggy's Gahanna opened on the east side of Columbus. The size of the original Hoggy's was quadrupled, making Hoggy's Gahanna the area's largest BBQ restaurant. It had nothing to do with a desire to be the largest... just the desire to insure that BBQ lovers had a place to meet, hang-out and eat the very best BBQ. Great food requires great passion... no one is more passionate about great food than Hoggy's. BBQ lovers can find Hoggy's in four central Ohio locations and locations in Cleveland and Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Regardless of where you find yourself on the map, if you're in a Hoggy's you can expect to find... BBQ... applewood smoked on-site at every Hoggy's location. Want specifics? How about the best ribs, wings and pulled pork you've ever had. Hoggy's is proud to be a destination for those who "crave" BBQ and accept nothing but the very best. While we find it a bit hard to believe, Hoggy's also understands that many do not care to enjoy BBQ at every meal, everyday. Should we make these people go hungry? Not with a name like Hoggy's. That's why we offer... Beyond the 'Q... a diverse menu featuring salads, soups, steak, chicken, fish, desserts and 13 made-from-scratch sides. We'd love to shine the light on our Mac-n-cheese, Colossal Onion Rings and Whipped Sweet Potatoes, but that would leave almost a dozen other sides that are just as incredible in the dark. Whatever you choose, if it's on Hoggy's menu, it's... Made-from-scratch... and loaded with flavor. Great food requires great passion... and no one is more passionate about great food than Hoggy's.
